Half the posts in any trading forum are selling an EA. The other half are calling every EA a scam. The real question is not "do EAs work" — it is whether the EA you are about to buy can prove itself. This guide gives you the checklist.
First, know what you are actually buying
Most EAs on the market are sold the same way: a beautiful equity curve and a promise. A curve is not a strategy. Before you pay, you need four things: the exact backtest conditions, the live track record, the risk control logic, and the person behind it.
How to read a backtest without being fooled
Ask three questions about any backtest:
- Was it 100% automated? If a human clicked through losing trades, it is not a backtest of the EA.
- What market and period? Gold H1 over months is not the same as EURUSD M5 over a week.
- What is the maximum drawdown? +1000% with a 90% drawdown is a different product than +500% with a 15% drawdown.
Our position is written on every page: MOM backtest data is generated in 100% automated mode with no human intervention. What you see is exactly what the robot did alone.
Manual trader vs automated EA
The table above is the whole argument in one picture: every weak point of manual trading is handled by software before you even see the chart.
The numbers, read in full
Flagship Mode 4, backtested on XAUUSD (gold), H1, January–September 2026, generated in 100% automated mode with no human intervention:
- Starting balance $500 → ending $5,851 (+1,070%)
- 250 trades, 78.4% win rate
- Max drawdown 18.6%, profit factor 2.10
- Trailing stop and trailing take profit on every position
The live record matters more than the curve
A backtest can be faked; time cannot. MOM EA has been running live for over a year. High-impact event windows (such as central bank rate decisions) are handled automatically — no one needs to remember, react or panic.
Four questions before you pay for any EA
- Was this backtest 100% automated, or did someone click through losing trades?
- What market, timeframe and period was it tested on?
- What is the maximum drawdown — can you actually sit through it?
- Does it run 24×7 on a VPS, or does it need you at the screen?
A seller who answers all four with numbers and conditions is worth your trust. One who only shows you a curve — walk away.
